Overview
The Sherborn Advisory Committee consists of nine residents appointed by the Town Moderator. As stated in Sherborn's General By-laws, the Advisory Committee is charged with providing information and recommendations on all matters of business within the articles of any Town Meeting Warrant, including the annual Omnibus Operating and Capital Budgets. After conducting a public hearing upon all Warrant articles, the Advisory Committee shall issue to every Sherborn household a report that includes the Committee's estimates and recommendations for Town action on each warrant article. This report shall state the total appropriation recommended on the entire Warrant and the resulting approximate tax rate. The Committee may issue recommendations on referenda and all matters on the ballot, except the choice of elected officials. The Committee shall also have the authority to investigate the books, accounts and management of any Town department.
