Agricultural Commission

Mission Statement:

The purpose of the Town of Sherborn Agricultural Commission will be to support commercial agriculture and other farming activities in the Town of Sherborn. The Commissions duties shall include, but are not limited to the following: serve as facilitators for encouraging the pursuits of agriculture in Sherborn; promote agricultural-based economic opportunities in Town; act as mediators, advocates, educators, and/or negotiators on farming issues, work for preservation of prime agricultural lands; advise the Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Conservation Commission, Board of Health, Historicial Commission, Board of Assessors, and the Open Space Committee, or any other appropriate Town Boards, on issues involving agriculture; and shall pursue all initiatives appropriate to creating a sustainable agricultural community.
