Emergency Preparedness

Sherborn is part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Emergency Preparedness Region 4A, and the Board of Health Administrator is an active participant in monthly regional emergency preparedness meetings.

In conjuction with the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Police and Fire departments, the Board of Health is charged with developing an Emergency Preparedness Plan for the citizens of the town. The critical Board of Health function of this plan is the establishment of an emergency dispensing site.

The Sherborn Board of Health has joined with the Dover Board of Health on the development of a regional Emergency Dispensing Site, following DPH guidelines. The site, if activated, would be staffed by Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers from both towns who would administer vaccines and/or dispense antibiotics as well as provide assistance with the administration of the site. These volunteers would likely be a part of the response to infectious disease outbreaks of any magnitude.

Sherborn residents are encouraged to use the files below as guidelines to follow in the event of an emergency.
