The department consists of approximately 55 "paid/call" members including all officers and chiefs and support staff. Each member is an employee of the Town of Sherborn and is paid only for their time during both emergency responses and official business. Despite the time "on-call", many thousands of hours are given by these same members, on a volunteer basis, in order to train, maintain the equipment, and provide the organizational structure to the fire department.
