Electric Vehicles (EVs)

Did you know that 44% of Sherborn's carbon emissions come from gasoline-powered vehicles? While traditional motor cars are amazing machines, they also contribute to climate change, air pollution, and city noise. For the future, consider planning for an electric vehicle to replace it.

EVs require less maintenance, make less noise, recharge at home, and are powerful enough to perform like an internal combustion engine (ICE). Explore this car shopping tool to find models that suit your needs.

There are currently several rebates and tax credits offered for electric vehicles for up to $10,000. For example, check out Massachusetts' MOR-EV program. Eversource also offers a rebate to offset charger costs at home. Click here to see if you qualify.

Sherborn is continually adding public charging stations around town, as are towns across the United States. Currently, 4 public charging spots are available on the Town Hall, Police Station, and Library campus, and can support about 10 vehicles round-the-clock. Keep an eye out for updates on the main Sustainability webpage for adding charging stations to other spots around town!
